Fishing shop in mall

A fishing specialty shop in Lake Forest Park mall. I'm not much interested in fishing but I hope it's doing well.

Berries are In!

Finally some local strawberries were on sale at the Lake Forest Park Farmer's Market. Strawberries have such a short season around here. Rasberries are usually available longer. I will try to have some pictures of them.

Toten pole at Northwest Hospital

The totem pole at the back entrance at Northwest Hospital. Carved in 1960? Northwest Hospital down by Northgate is a suburban hospital, one of the two closes to Lake Forest Park.

The King County Shoreline District Courthouse in Shoreline...I think they took the word "Shoreline" out of the title

Swamp Creek

While letterboxing, I discovered this attractive creek with sandy swim areas in Kenmore, just a short way away. Sunny afternoon with kids and dogs swimming in the water. Kind of reminded me of Bidwell Creek in Chico. I'll come back here....

Plaque at Cromwell Park

Cromwell Park School housed the cooperative pre-school I went with my kids. Now torn down, no trsce except for this plaque. King County Shoreline District Court now on one corner of the property

Shorecrest scoreboard

When you get close to the scoreboard on the softball field....it could use some work. Kind of wild out there in deep right field. Somebody might have put a letter box at the base of that scoregoard, you never know.

One of our two local grocery stores, Thriftway. Really like that store, always enjoy going in there and I've left a fair amount of coin

Theaters

A large movie chain built a complex just outside Lake Forest Park some years ago. It's great for ourselves and our teens to have this movie theater right here. But it's SO expensive, I rarely go there. I did just plant a letterbox off their parking lot though.

Watchdog

The other day when I was at Linwood Park, this dog next door kept a wary watch as I walked by his yard. Just keeping an eye on me should I threaten his yard. Not like my even larger dog who has always expected me to protect her.

My Rhody bush

My big Rhody bush in my back yard. Blooming pink. That's a six foot fence on the right to give you an idea of the size of the bush

History of Grace Cole Preserve

On the boardwalk to the pond in the Grace Cole Nature Preserve is this plaque showing aerial shots of the piece of land over the years. Interesting pictures and interesting area.

June Theme Day - Local corner shop

Sorry that I don't catch onto this until after the fact. I have an excuse as I was in the midwest.

The shop I'm featuring is rather large. I love the place. Third Place books in Lake Forest Park. Large independent book store. I buy all my books there. Has a big sitting area with many small restaurants. They encourage people to hang out there. It's a Third Place. Not home, not work but a place for people to gather.

Great concept, great place, may it stay there a long time
